- 28/09/2010 - Wind power demand increases. Wind power demand is seeing huge growth – 40 GW of capacity has been added already this year. The installed, wind power capacity is expected to reach close to 200 GW by the end of 2010.
- 24/09/2010 - CBI supports the re-design of the CRC energy efficiency scheme. Dr Neil Bentley, CBI Director for Business Environment commented on the ‘common-sense’ recommendations made by the Committee on Climate Change for the Government to re-design the CRC.
- 21/09/2010 - Chris Huhne announces that the new ‘Green Deal’ will be a revolution. Speaking at the Liberal Democrat Autumn Conference, Chris Huhne, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change announced that the new ambitious energy-saving scheme would radically overhaul the energy efficiency of homes and small businesses.
- 14/09/2010 - Climate Change Minister, Greg Barker talks to the CBI. He pledges to treat all future energy policies with TLC, transparency, longevity and certainty.
- 10/09/2010 - Networks set for 7bn smart meter rolllout. Mandatory programme to begin in July 2012 – one year ahead of previous plan.
- 03/09/2010 - Eco Car Challenge premiers the latest selection of eco-friendly vehicles. The Eco Car Challenge takes place on September 12th in London and will feature the latest range of environmental motoring solutions, including: racing supercars, town runabouts, scooters and bikes.
