Regardless of election result, UK consumers face higher energy bills

On Wednesday 5th May Bloomberg reported that UK consumers should expect higher energy bills regardless of the election results.
Bloomberg reported that the three main parties were all pushing for more renewables and clean energy, which would in turn increase energy bills.
The Head of Policy at Climate Change Capital in London said “Investment in the infrastructure needed to transition Britain to a low-carbon economy is part-financed by subsidies paid for through consumer energy bills. All things being equal, this will increase average energy bills.”
