European Commission sets out plans for a low-carbon economy by 2050

The European Union has reported that plans are on track to reduce emissions to 20% below 1990 levels. However the European Commission is now laying out plans for the more distant future.

The report ‘Roadmap for moving to a competitive low-carbon economy in 2050’ aims to deliver on much higher targets for emissions, renewable energy and energy efficiency.
