Huhne’s energy policies cause ripple effect

Less than three months after taking office, the new Energy minister, Chris Huhne, delivered the first of the annual energy policy statements.

The independent discussed the impacts of energy policies and said there was a danger that current policies did little more than provide ‘less haste and more speed’, causing anxiety in the sector. The paper reports that what seems like subtle policy announcements are already having a very significant impact on the energy industry, in ways that could cause problems for years to come.
