Wave of interest in hydropower projects

Licenses for planned hydropower schemes in England and Wales have increased from 10 in 2008, to 65 in 2010.

The Environment Agency announced the increase after simplifying the application process for hydropower scheme. The application review aims to capitalise on Government incentives to produce renewable energy.
