Spotlight on…Head of Corporate Operations

Having been with Opus Energy since 2003, Jacqueline Knighton has recently taken on the new role of Head of Corporate Operations. With over 16 years in the electricity industry her experience spans the pre and post privatisation of the market. She has played a key role in the development of Opus Energy’s Corporate Accounts and is responsible for the end-to-end operational services delivered to our corporate customers.

1. Jacqueline, congratulations on your new role at Opus Energy, can you expand more about what the new role involves?
 
"The new role means I have an opportunity of being more involved in the decision making process and can now integrate multiple departments and create a cohesive flow of information, whilst still delivering an effective and efficient service to our customers.
 
"As part of the restructure, the department has seen the merging of sections that now report directly to me, such as the corporate back office function. The department incorporates activities that work very closely with industry parties. This team has daily contact with meter operations, data collectors and smart metering providers which has offered me the opportunity to work with specialists and enable me to fully monitor performance and create a more dynamic cohesive team of professionals."
 
2. How will this new position help to develop Corporate Accounts and Opus Energy?
 
"My new role will enable the Corporate Account department to continue to deliver a high standard of customer service and develop more streamlined processes. Giving me the chance to bring together key personnel to enhance the end-to-end service we deliver throughout the customer life cycle."
 
3. What are the Corporate Accounts objectives for the next 12 months?
 
"Opus Energy’s strategy for Corporate Accounts is to continue to operate a stable platform to enable us to deliver a high standard of service to our customers. We also anticipate our customers and brokers to be more in control of their energy due to the introduction of new and innovative products. 

"The Corporate Account team is full of enthusiastic team players who continuously strive to deliver excellent customer service. In the next 12 months we aim to continue providing a dedicated and supportive service which puts our customers first."

4. What do you enjoy most about your role at Opus Energy? 

"I get to work with a great team of people who are like-minded in their commitment to delivering a quality service. Each day brings different challenges and new opportunities.

"Opus is a growing company and as I joined when the company was in its infancy it has been rewarding to see Opus, fellow colleagues and I develop together."
