Opus Energy presents an example of a flexible customer lifecycle:
Step 1 - Current purchasing position
This screen enables customers, at a glance, to see their real-time energy purchasing status. Demonstrating how much electricity has been locked out and how much is still available to fix. This is illustrated month by month and shows indicative prices from the current wholesale market.
Step 2 - Request an electricity price
To mitigate the risk of fluctuating energy prices customers can, at any time throughout the lifecycle of their contract, request an electricity price and choose to lock out a percentage of their consumption. Opus Energy will then email the customer a best-priced electricity quote. The customer can choose to accept this price or wait to see how the electricity price market moves and request another price at a later date. Electricity prices can go up as well as down.
Step 3 – Make the energy purchase
When a customer accepts an electricity price and quantity, this purchase will be reflected instantaneously in Opus Evolution.
