Opus Energy Charity Triumphs 2009/10
Opus Energy employees have gone above and beyond to help reach our April 2010 fundraising target of £10,000 for the Friends of Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
By taking part in cross country walks, team activities such as an ‘It’s a Knock Out’ challenge, the BUPA Great South Run and the Cycle 4 Cynthia challenge we raised £1606.
We also encourage employees to take part in events that enable them to achieve personal challenges. In November two employees, after training for 5 months, ran the biggest road race in the world; the New York Marathon. To show our support
Opus Energy covered their travel expenses and

accommodation costs in exchange for their commitment to training and raise at least £1500 each in sponsorship.
Collectively they raised an impressive £3,138, which was then matched by
Opus Energy, bringing the total to an amazing
£6,276!
And there’s more.
The Opus Energy offices have been packed with fun sweepstakes, quizzes, fancy dress days and cake sales. Thanks to the organisation of our employees the office entertainment has raised £1490 for the Friends of Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
We are now so close to our fundraising target of £10,000 and for 2010 we have some exciting things coming up to help raise the remaining £600.
We would like to thank everyone who sponsored and supported our fundraising activities throughout 2009.
